If you are a parent or carer looking for adult counselling or parenting support for yourself, please read our criteria to access this support and then download the form at the end.

• We take support requests from non-abusive parents or carers with children / young people affected by sexual abuse.

• You must be a resident in the Somerset Council area (this includes the former districts of South Somerset, Mendip, Sedgemoor, Somerset West and Taunton).

• Your child or young person must be between the ages of 1-18 years.

• Sexual abuse has stopped.

• If there is an ongoing investigation or court date set, we can still offer counselling or therapeutic support whilst this continues. We do not need to tell the lead investigator that you are having support, we might advise you to make them aware of this. We have a pre-trial policy we need to follow, and we will provide this to you as soon as we receive your request for support.

• If a request for support for your child or young person is made whilst you access our service this will follow its own service procedure.

• Counselling only: If you have already had counselling via the Somerset Phoenix Project we will only be able to offer more counselling after 1 year has passed.
